12 Powerful Prayers to Stand Firm in Faith

When you grow tired of waiting, be confident that God will renew your strength.

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31

While you wait, you should pray, read the word, and refrain from fear. Learn to live in God’s peace. And when you’ve done everything you can to have strong faith and there is nothing left to do… you should then mimic Paul and continue standing: “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” – Ephesians 6:13

Prayer to Stand Firm in Faith

O' Lord, I pray that you would help me to avoid temptation and sin as I pass through this fiery trial. Lord give me the strength and perseverance to continue on the path of righteousness. Thank you for the grace to stand firm to the end. I ask that my spirit would overflow with praises and thanksgivings. You are worthy of it all. Holy are you Abba. You are my counselor, protector, leader, guide, teacher, deliverer, and father. You are the God of miracles, breakthrough, and the impossible. I give you my burdens. I surrender my life, heart, and situation into your trustworthy hands. I believe that you will accomplish a good work and that I can trust you. 

I ask for strength as I wait father. I need your power to run and not grow weary and to walk, but not faint. Thank you father because it is when I am weak that you are the strongest in my life. I am confident that you are walking out this process with me and that I shall not wait in vain. You are worthy of it all father. You are worthy of any wait. Your way is the ultimate way. I drop my understanding father and I acknowledge that your plans for me are good and righteous even if it doesn't feel like it. I thank you that my story isn't done until I see the testimony of your goodness. Thank you for healing my heart and helping me to see your plans clearly father, so I can rejoice in even the simple things you are doing and have done. I love you Abba. Amen.

Prayer Points to Stand Firm in Faith

1. Abba Father, please give me the strength to read the Bible and stand on Your promises as I wait for Your hand to move in my life. “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17)

2. Father, I am tired from fighting these battles and waiting for promises that seem impossible. Please help me to continue on. I thank You for renewing my strength. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:28)

3. I thank You, Father, that I can trust in You without fear for the future. Your Word says You will never forsake the righteous. “Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.” (Romans 10:11)

4. O Lord, if You said it, then I believe it. You are the promise keeper that never goes back on Your word. “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?” (Numbers 23:19)

5. I thank You, Father, because I hear Your voice clearly, and I’m confident that You will lead me in the right direction. I release my worry and put my trust in You to direct my path. “In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one.” (Ephesians 6:16)

6. Thank you for understanding my current situation, Papa. I ask that I would feel Your nearness and hear Your thoughts on my current situation. “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.” (Hebrews 4:15)

I am thankful that this is making me stronger and that my love, faith, and strength are being perfected. “More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” (Romans 5:3-5)

Prayer for God’s Guidance

O' Lord, I am in need of your guidance and direction. You said your word would be a lamp to my feet. You promised that you would show me which way to walk. And you promised that the spirit of truth would help me to discern the path to righteousness. So I declare your word to be true Abba. I declare that you are the promise keeper that never goes back on your word. I ask to hear your voice so clearly on the next steps and decisions that I need to make. I thank you father because your power enables me to stand strong as I wait for you to move on my behalf.
