15+ Prayers for the Month of May + Scriptures

This month, I feel God wants the body to truly let go and trust Him as the focus in the prayers for the month of May. When you’re truly trusting God, you feel peace, less worry, your thoughts aren’t overwhelming, and you’re able to be grateful and remember the things He’s done. In contrast, when we rely solely on our own understanding and efforts, we often find ourselves overwhelmed by anxiety, burdened by doubt, and unable to fully appreciate the blessings around us.

Letting go and surrendering to God’s will allows us to experience His peace that surpasses all understanding, freeing us from the weight of worry and doubt. It is in this surrender that we find true rest for our souls and discover the abundant life that God desires for each of us.

May Scripture Reading: Sarah Didn’t Trust God

In the story of Abraham and Sarah, we’re familiar with the promise of a child, yet Sarah’s prolonged wait led to doubt, given her advanced age (Genesis 18:11-12). This doubt drove her to take matters into her own hands, leading to her husband having a child with Hagar (Genesis 16:1-4). Despite Sarah’s actions, God remained faithful to His promise, assuring her she’d have a child (Genesis 18:14). However, when the angel of God conveyed this news, Sarah laughed (Genesis 18:12). Upon being questioned about her laughter, Sarah denied it out of fear (Genesis 18:15).

Amazingly, God still kept His promise to Sarah even though she didn’t believe and made her own plans to produce a son by having Abraham sleep with Hagar. This story highlights God’s consistent love and desire to answer prayers, despite human disbelief, long-suffering, fear, and loss of hope, which may lead us to take matters into our own hands.

Prayer to Let Go and Let God

Heavenly Father, I come to you with a heart full of gratitude for your unwavering presence in my life, admitting the times I relied too heavily on my own strength. Today, I surrender my worries, trusting in your perfect plans, and I lift up my loved ones, knowing they depend on your guidance. In moments of doubt, thank you for your patience and understanding; help me anchor my trust firmly in you. Heal my heart of jealousy, pride, and comparison, opening my eyes to your goodness amidst challenges. Remind me of the blessings you have in store—financial, relational, and spiritual—granting me wisdom to trust your timing and silence doubt. May your peace reign as I journey toward the AMAZING future you’ve prepared for myself and those around me. Amen.

Prayer to Believe God’s Goodness for My Future

Remind me, O’ Lord, that you have amazing things in store for me—financial blessings, growth in marriage, job promotions, spiritual elevation, and more. Grant me the wisdom to trust in your timing and your ways, knowing that you work all things for my good. Help me to silence the voices of doubt and judgment, whether they come from within me or from others. May your peace reign in my heart as I journey toward the wonderful future you have prepared for me. Amen.

Prayer for Breakthrough for Others 

Heavenly Father, I come before you, lifting up my friends, co-workers, church community, and family. Surround them with your supernatural power and let them experience your endless love this month. May they know you as their guide, protector, leader, counselor, friend, healer, and savior. Heal their souls and teach them to walk in your perfect ways. In Jesus’ name, I plead the blood of Christ over their minds, bodies, and spirits, aligning them with your divine will. Lead them on the path of righteousness and quench their spiritual thirst with your eternal water, as you promised, “those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again” (John 4:14). I trust you to work miracles in their lives, bringing forth abundant testimonies to magnify your precious name. Amen.

3 Prayers to Trust God and Have Hope

1. Dear God, I acknowledge my reliance on my own strength and confess my tendency to forget that yours surpasses mine in every aspect. Grant me the grace to release control and have faith in your wisdom, for “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). Help me trust in your perfect plans, knowing that you are always with me and guiding me, as you promised, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).
2. Heavenly Father, in moments of doubt, I thank you for your patience and understanding. Your word reminds me, “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind” (James 1:6). Instead of condemning my unbelief, you offer reassurance and strength to keep believing.  Help me anchor my trust firmly in you, even amidst uncertainty, for “I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24). May your unwavering love be my constant source of hope and confidence, as your word declares, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope” (Romans 15:13).
3. Papa God, I come to you with a burdened heart, seeking your healing touch to cleanse and renew me from within. Your word assures me, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3). Open my eyes to recognize your goodness, even in the midst of challenges and trials, for “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). Guide me to perceive your presence in every aspect of my life, offering hope and comfort, as you promised, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4). Amen.

Daily New Week Prayer for Each Day

Use this prayer daily throughout the week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

O’ Lord, I thank you for the renewal of my mind this morning. Today, I shift my focus from the temporal things to Kingdom matters. I thank you that you call me friend and you speak to me daily. Today, I ask for an increase in the ability to listen to your gentle leadings, so I can honor you in every way. I ask that you would remove every Satanic plan that seeks to destroy me today. And if you allow the obstacle to stay, I ask that you would give me supernatural strength to conquer it and remain righteous.

Thank you that you’re perfecting me through daily trials and removing the selfish nature of my flesh. Hollow me out Lord, and remove anything that hinders love. I ask you to refill me with your righteousness, love, self-control, discipline, compassionate empathy, and discernment. I thank you for preparing the way before me and directing me on the narrow path towards your heart and wisdom. I ask for a fresh release of opportunities, fruits of the spirit, and spiritual insight into my life.

I thank you in advance for favor, open doors, and supernatural moments to spread the gospel. I pray over my family, job, church, and finances. I declare your will and your plans to reign supreme in this world. I ask that you would cover me in every area possible and help me to walk in confidence that you protect and guide me. I pray for great opportunities and peaceful moments this week. O’ Lord, help me to declare your truth over my life this week and walk in my authority and identity. Amen.

Multiplication of Fruit in May

It’s time for you to see a multiplication of spiritual fruit in your life (grace, peace, patience, self-control, gentleness, kindness, etc.) Remember, “You will seek [God] and find [him] when you seek [him] with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:12

This is a POWERFUL word because Jesus said God is a gardener that wants to cultivate us into fruitful plants. “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit.” John 15:1-8 John 15:1-8

The Old Testament also testifies to God’s amazing ability to bring fruitfulness from our lives.

• In Genesis 49:22, Joseph is compared to a fruitful vine that spreads and grows beautifully.
• In Hosea 10:1, the nation of Israel is compared to a fruit vine that was bountiful and still choose deceit and idolatry.
• In Isaiah 5:4, God is disappointed with the quality of fruits that the Israelites bear.

Prayer Points to Produce Fruit in the Month of May

• Jesus, I acknowledge your work on the cross and I ask to truly understand your sacrifice on another level. I praise you for being with me every step of my journey and I ask for supernatural grace to produce righteousness all the days of my life. “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit.” John 15:1-8
• Thank you father because you are helping me to bear fruit in every area of my life. I ask that I would be a testimony of your abundant love. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” Galatians 5:22-23

I desire to represent you with the richness of my character. “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” John 15:16
• O’ Lord, help me to walk in a manner worthy of you, fully pleasing to you, and bearing fruit in every good work as I increase in the knowledge of God. Colossians 1:10

Prayer to Produce Fruit

O’ Lord, I desire to be righteous before your eyes. You O’ Lord are my rock and my solid foundation. You are my helper and you guide me on the straight and narrow path. You keep me planted in solid and fertile ground. I ask that you would remove the weeds, rocks, and thorns that seek to choke my growth. I desire to be a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither.

I ask for the stamina, motivation, and strength to delight in your ways Lord. Help me to hunger and thirst for your word as I meditate on your goodness, day and night. I hunger and thirst for righteousness O’ Lord. I desire to have a healthy mind and spirit. I submit my heart, mind, and soul into your healing hands. Purify me O’ Lord and strip me of all that hinders growth. I thank you God because you’re working in me and this is just the beginning. You are giving me supernatural gifts to make up for my weaknesses.

You are my strength God and I look to you for a double portion of love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. You are the God that helps me love an enemy. You are the God that helps me to patiently trust and love when I’m frustrated. And you are the God that gives me joy when everything is falling apart. In every season, I rejoice because you are my God.

You are my fortress, strong tower, deliverer, counselor, and friend. Father, I ask that this month others would come into the full revelation of your love. I ask that others would have the opportunity to know that you give us the strength to live this hard life. Abba, you are such a good daddy. I ask that all your children would experience your love. I pray for signs and miracles to break out this month. Thank you that your lost sheep are returning. Thank you that prophetic dreams, visions, and words are being released to all that are in need. I am excited because it’s spring father and you are bringing NEWNESS into 2022. I love you Abba because you are good. Amen.

Prayer Against International Disasters

O’ Lord, I thank you for all that you are doing behind the scenes within the nations. I ask for Heaven’s news report because the news report of men can be wicked. I thank you because you know the injustices that every country has faced and you bring justice despite the lies of man. I pray against financial problems, homelessness, poverty, hunger, diseases, and oppressive leaders. I ask that you would rebuke, redirect, and restore anything that is broken within the government of my country and the governments globally.

O’ Lord, I thank you that you are the God that can bring anyone into your loving arms and set them upon a path of righteousness. I declare that nations globally are coming under your authority as we speak. Thank you for releasing spiritual advisors to direct the course of governments globally. I declare spiritual leaders like the Daniels, Josephs, and Esthers in the Bible to rise up. Thank you that a powerful army of your children are being released into high places to replace, expose, and restore anything that the enemy has planned.

I rejoice because you are interrupting Satan’s plan for Russia, Ukraine, the Middle East, China, Israel, Africa, and every other country. I declare every nation that is being led by demonic entities and wickedness in high places to be torn down and exposed. I ask for your ministering angels to protect the lives of innocent civilians in war struck countries. I rebuke every witch’s or warlock’s curse and I stand in agreement that the globe is being loosed from the authority of Satan. Abba father, I ask that you search the heart of deceivers and expose their lust for money, power, war, and division. You are the higher authority God and I thank you that you will have your spotless bride. Amen.

Abba Father, I submit my tender and fragile spirit into your mighty hands. My human and/or spiritual enemies have surrounded me and they wear on my emotions and cause my strength to decrease. I ask that you would help me to move my gaze from their deceptive plots and allow me to focus on Heaven’s strategy for warfare. I declare that I will not let the enemies’ plot scare me because I know you are near to me father.

I thank you that you are the alpha and omega, the Great I am, the one that parted the sea, and the God that causes all things to work together for my good. I remember your miraculous works Abba. I remember that you destroyed the enemies’ plans to trap humanity into darkness; by sending your only begotten son Jesus Christ as a final sacrifice for sin. I am in awe of your love for humanity God and I choose to partner with you in prayer for the salvation of souls across the globe. I declare that the enemies’ plans for me are derailed, exposed, and destroyed. I agree that every negative word and witches’ curse spoken over me is canceled.

Thank you father for canceling every demonic assignments on my life. I trust you God to give me the strength and courage needed to believe that you will avenge me and fight my battles. I ask for patience, love, gentle kindness, wisdom, and faith to finish this trial strong. Thank you Elohim Shomri, for you are my protector and even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Amen.

Prayer to Hear God’s Guidance

O’ Lord, I am in need of your guidance and direction. You said your word would be a lamp to my feet. You promised that you would show me which way to walk. And you promised that the spirit of truth would come and guide me into holiness and your divine path. So I declare your word to be true Abba. I declare that you are the promise keeper that never goes back on your word. I ask to hear your voice so clearly on the next steps and decisions that I need to make.

I trust that you will speak father and when you do I wont hesitate to walk in the direction you choose. Steady my heart father, so I can remain confident in your goodness despite any disappointments or obstacles that I may encounter on this journey. I know you are good and you withhold no good thing from me. I will mediate on your words day and night Lord. I will wait on you because I know you don’t put the righteous to shame.

I will trust that you will protect me from bad relationships, wolves in sheep clothings, unGodly council, and false prophets that seek to corrupt your word and cause me to stumble. O’ how I love you father. I love how you love me. And I ask for a heart that can choose you all the days of my life. Amen.
