15+ Opening and Closing Prayers Before Class

In both online and in-person, these opening and closing prayers before class center on seeking strength, wisdom, purpose, and confidence to excel.

Before entering the classroom, we turn to these simple prayers, seeking wisdom from God.

Guided by Proverbs 1:5 – “Let the wise listen and learn” – and James 1:5 – “If you lack wisdom, ask God” – these prayers aim to enhance your experience in class by asking God for all you need to progress.

Short Prayer Before Class:

  • O Lord, help me maintain a positive mindset as I enter class. Help me to take  my thoughts and set aside life’s troubles. With your strength, I believe I can focus on what I need to learn.
  • Dear God, grant me the ability to listen, understand, and retain the information presented today. May you help me to store knowledge that will help me do your will.
  • Abba Father, shield my classroom from chaos and disruptions.
  • Heavenly father, may the teacher deliver an impactful lesson that enhances my knowledge and the wisdom of my peers.
  • Dear God, I am thankful for the opportunity to attend school. Bless this school, the teachers, administration, and support staff to continue in strength and unity.
  • Protect my mind from distractions and empower me with the ability to comprehend all that is taught today.
  • Bless my classmates, O Lord, ensuring their safe arrival to class and aiding their learning. Direct their focus to the lesson and surround them with your peace.
