"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. 5 For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. What does the Bible say about spiritual adornment?
The definition of spiritual adornment is the act of becoming more beautiful and attractive by allowing God to live within you.
Spiritual adornment starts with saying yes to Jesus Christ. Once we become a bride of Christ, He begins a process of purifying us internally and making us spotless for the day of His return. Without supernatural intervention, it is impossible to stay pure in this DARK and painful world. “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: …. to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27
The world is full of pain. And you will start noticing it more when you’re more healed and God gives you more discernment. The very people that you will try to bring into God’s goodness may be the very people that hurt you. Betrayal, heartbreak, disappointment, and different life situations will try to corrupt your heart with pain. Think of all Jesus went through to simple forgive the sins of man. He didn’t deserve it.
Ultimately, you cannot be a good person DAILY without the blood that Jesus shed for you. Striving for perfection and transformation without God is pointless. When we try to adorn ourselves or make ourselves more spiritual we fail. But, when we allow God to discipline, teach, and transform us He adorns us with eternal treasures – love, peace, freedom, grace, discernment, kindness, humility, forgiveness, etc.

Outward Adornment Meaning:
When Jesus came he pointed out that the Pharisees were a perfect example of what outward or external adornment means. They were good at following rituals and praying out loud. But, their hearts were evil and filled with sin. They only did holy things to LOOK holy.
Ezekiel 16 talks about how God adorned the Israelites with everything they needed, yet they still didn’t give God their hearts. This scripture verse demonstrates that God can give you EVERYTHING you need, but when our hearts are corrupt we will eventually use it for our own selfishness.
"So you were adorned with gold and silver, and your clothing was made of fine linen, silk, and embroidered cloth. You ate fine flour, honey, and oil. You became very beautiful and rose to be queen. Your fame spread among the nations on account of your beauty, for it was perfect in the splendor I bestowed on you, declares the Lord GOD. But because of your fame, you trusted in your beauty and played the harlot." -- Read the whole chapter here.

Should we not wear jewellery at all ? And what about pants?
Should Women wear pants ?
And should we not braid our hair?
As in Cornrows and box braids?
Or all of these doesn’t matter if our heart is adorned?
Pls help , I’ve been searching for these answers for a long time now
Hello Eddy,
Thanks for asking these important questions. I will work on officially adding a detailed response to your questions on this post. In the mean time, I have stated my opinion and collected these amazing sources to help you navigate your questions.
1. I think we are called to dress in a manner that sets us apart, but our heart is the most important part of being different to the world. If we are dressing modest, but we are judging others and filled with pride… We are only seeking to look good to others and not God. But, I strongly believe that women shouldn’t be wearing clothing that purposely elicits a sexual response or shows our boobs & butt.
2. In the Bible, the Jewish men wore togas which can be considered a style similar to a dress. But, male togas were not considered female at the time. So, we have to understand that the Bible was written to instruct us not to purposely try to look like or dress like the opposite gender. God created us female and male; there is a sense of pride we should show in honoring that design. However, that can look a bit different and unique for each woman/male depending on their culture and choice of style.
3. Also, We should not be conform to what the culture is promoting as beautiful OR overdo things to draw attention to ourselves. When someone meets us our character should be more shiny than our jewelry and more memorable than our clothing. So yes — I believe woman are able to wear jewelry, braids, and pants.

5 Things the Bible Does (and Doesn’t) Say About Modesty: https://www.cbeinternational.org/resource/article/mutuality-blog-magazine/5-things-bible-does-and-doesnt-say-about-modesty
In summary, there is nothing inherently wrong with wearing jewelry, makeup, or braided hair, as long as it is done in a modest manner. Also, such things can never replace good deeds or a humble spirit. A Christian woman should not be so focused on her outward appearance that she neglects her spiritual life. A worship service should be focused on God, not on us. If a woman is spending an inordinate amount of time and money on her appearance, the problem is that the woman’s priorities are misplaced. Expensive jewelry and clothing are the results of the problem, not the problem itself.
